Engineer Artists Collaborator Spotlight – Engineer Luis Hernández
Luis Hernandez is a structural engineer with over a decade of experience in the analysis, design, and detailing of steel and concrete structures. He is recognized for delivering precise, fabrication-ready documentation and for his ability to coordinate complex projects so they move seamlessly from design to construction.
This year-long project for Smurfit Kappa Industrial Buildings in Cali, Colombia, demonstrates his expertise in steel structure construction and detailing. Luis managed the production and review of shop drawings, coordinated with equipment vendors, and oversaw the fabrication and erection process. Using ETABS, SAP2000, TecnoMetal 3D, and AutoCAD, he ensured that every frame, platform, and connection achieved a first-time fit on site.
Luis’s background includes industrial, residential, educational, and infrastructure projects across multiple regions. His combination of advanced technical skills, software expertise, and a solutions-driven approach makes him a strong resource for projects where accuracy, efficiency, and buildability are critical.
